One of currently the most popular theatre plays, “The talk of the town” is an intriguing comedy about how one single malicious gossip can turn the lives of four women upside down. This performance became a hit in the region in a short time.
Nina, her daughter Maja and Maja’s best friends, Dunja and Koka leisurely spend all their free time in Koka’s beauty salon. While trying out the weirdest and most extreme treatments, creams and oils, the four of them successfully manage to forget the grim reality that surrounds them. However, when their daily routine is interrupted by a gossip about the alleged infidelity of Maja’s husband, a web of lies, intrigues and self-deception begins to unroll, and their decades-long friendship gets called into question.
“The talk of the town” is a play about the superficiality and lies, but also about love and friendship. It is a story about all challenges a woman must face at her best age.
Written and directed by Staša Koprivica, starring: Dubravka Mijatović, Olga Odanovic, Anastasia Mandić and Sena Đorović.
